The journal contains, first of all, studies in the field of linguistics and literature, but other disciplines of Hungarian science are also present, especially folklore and cultural history. The criteria for the journal's academic status are the following: separating, to some extent, the theoretical from the essayistic character, the selection of collaborators considering their status as researchers, linguists, literary historians, literary critics, etc. The publication of the studies is conditioned by the results of the original research. The authors of the journal are researchers of the Institute of Linguistics and Literature as well as members of the Departments of Hungarian Language, Hungarian Literature, Ethnography and Hungarian Anthropology at Babeș-Bolyai University. Among the contributors to the journal, we also find PhD students from the listed departments, as well as scientists from abroad. Overall, the journal reflects the current concerns of Hungarian linguistics and literary science. The published articles are written in Hungarian. The summaries in Romanian and English, as well as the keywords published in these languages, allow wider access to scientific information. The board of directors of the journal is made up of illustrious personalities of the sciences of language, literature and folklore from Romania, Hungary and France, and the editorial board includes well-known specialists from the "Sextil Puşcariu" Institute and the "Babeş-Bolyai" University from Cluj-Napoca .
