METHODS AND FORMS OF EXPRESSING LANGUAGE PROBLEMS IN CASE OF BILINGUAL SPEAKERS OF THE TÂRNAVA MICĂ REGION (TRANSYLVANIA)

Abstract

The article analyses the manifestations of lacuna, lexical gap and language insecurity on the basis of interviews with Transylvanian, Romanian-Hungarian bilingual speakers. The research aims to present and analyse the phenomenon of redundancy and obstruction of expression, which indicate the presence of gaps and linguistic lapses. The analysis also systematizes the forms of lexical gaps, linguistic lapses. The typology of discourse phenomena in the context of lexical gaps, suggesting thatspeakers often indicate the presence of a language problem themselves through metalinguistic remarks. The available language data are taken from the utterances of bilingual Hungarian-speaking inhabitants of Magyarsáros/Delenii and its surroundings (the settlements along the Lower Kis-Küküllő/Târnava Mică: Vámosgálfalva/Gănești, Szőkefalva/Seuca, Küküllődombó/Dâmbău and Ádámos/Adămuș). The linguistic data were collected using the open interview method.
